Admission Process

Students entering Transitional Kindergarten must be four years old by September 1st of the year they will be enrolled in school and be fully toilet trained. Students entering Kindergarten must be five years old by September 1st of the year they will be enrolled in school.

A non-refundable $65 application fee is due with the application and can be made at the end of the online application process.

Applications will be submitted via TADS. Please note there is a $65 non-refundable application fee. Once your application is submitted, the St. John Vianney Admissions Team will review it. In the meantime, please prepare the following documents:

• Baptismal Certificate (if applicable)

• TB Test (if entering TK)

• TB Risk Assessment for School Entry

• Report Card (Grades 1–8)

• Photo of Student

• First Communion Certificate (if applicable)

• Report of Preschool Progress (Kindergarten applicants only)

  4. Give it to your child’s preschool provider for completion

St. John Vianney Catholic School strives to provide an affordable Catholic education to all students. Three types of financial aid are currently available:

The BASIC Fund – This privately funded program helps low-income families afford tuition at private schools. Families must complete the application and return it to the school. For more information, please review the FAQ at www.basicfund.org . Applications for the BASIC Fund open in January 2026, with a deadline of March 28th 2026. Please check back for official dates as they are still pending.

Guardian Angel Program (GAP) – GAP is a tuition assistance initiative by the Diocese of San Jose that provides partial tuition support for families, funded through private donations. The application deadline for GAP will be in February 2026. Please check back for the official date as it is still pending.

St. John Vianney Financial Aid – Tuition Assistance Fund – This is need-based financial aid available to both new and returning families at St. John Vianney. Applications are processed through TADS and must be renewed each year.

The following documentation is required once the application is completed:

• Copies of your most recent federal tax forms, including all supporting tax schedules. (Final verification may not occur until your current federal taxes are submitted. At that time, eligibility and scholarship amounts can be determined.)

• Copies of your most recent W-2 form(s)

• Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security Income (SSI), Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, and TANF

Once your child’s application has been accepted, please follow the steps below to complete enrollment. You will receive an email from Principal Hinkle containing instructions on how to register your child and pay the non-refundable tuition deposit. After the deposit is paid, the final step is signing the tuition agreement. Please note that your child will not be officially enrolled until the tuition agreement is signed.
